Saying goodbye to Born In Mexico

Dear friends,
I hope you are all well despite all the social, economic and political turbulences that are invading more and more our daily lives. As the nature of the Great Mother teaches us, if we stay connected to it with genuineness and harmony, there is no shadow or chaos that can pull us out from the balance of Life. Everything will find its right anchor point. Let our natural process of life not be diverted from the disorder and confusion of others'.

Today's post is to announce you that from now you can no longer buy the DVD Born In Mexico on Tree of Life Video's blog. Since its first production, in 2010, have been sold, given away and distributed more than 150 copies around the world. For my part, unless there will be a massive demand for a new edition of the DVD, I do not think I'll make another production of Born In Mexico. However, I wanted to thank Niko Palmer and her Association for Safe Alternatives in Childbirth ASAC in Alberta (Canada) for their openness and trust they have shown in my project of educational video . In fact, many of you may not know it yet, but since February 2013, Tree of Life Video in partnership with ASAC, are focused on Increasing the funding for midwives in Alberta. As Niko Palmer says : "The current contract does not permit all midwives to work there full time Although the demand for midwifery care is there". Hence, for those who live in Canada and U.S., you can support the work of midwives in Alberta by purchasing copies of the DVD directly to ASAC. You can apply by e-mail from the contact page set in ASAC's website. This money will go particularly to the benefit of local projects in the community of Edmonton. In this video made last August is shown more in detail the current situation that Midwives are living in Alberta.

For my part, I will leave for a while the Midwives's world to explore other aspects of Traditional Medicine in the world. I would like, during this new time that will come, to come back to you with a new video project with more beautiful stories of people that I will find on my path. I thank all those who bought Born In Mexico so far and / or participated in the screenings. Thank you for your support and kindness you have shown to my work. As soon as I can I will keep track of when the money collected for the birth center in Tepoztlan for Angelina will be sent.

With warm friendship

A feedback from Edmonton

Thank you Heidi for your precious feedback.

"Thanks so much for all your help. I picked up the video from Niko after attending a beautiful water birth in hospital. I was able to watch your video today and love that it is in Spanish. It will be great for some of our clients to be able to have a video in their native tongue. It was great to see such a true representation of what labor is like. I loved seeing Lina at work and watching the laboring mom go through the many different emotions she experienced. Every pregnant mom should watch this! (...)
Thanks for taking the time to make such an amazing video."

News from Alberta

Greetings to everybody,
It's been very looong time I haven't post new stuff on this page. Today I just wish to thank Niko Palmer and all ASAC Midwives and families in Alberta (Canada) http://asac.ab.ca/

for their engagement for a safe childbirth in Alberta. They recently had a screening of Born In Mexico in Alberta which helped us to raise 170 US Dollars for the Birth Center in Tepoztlan. In fact, since my last trip to Canada in winter time, Tree Of Life Video has offered a box of DVDs to ASAC to sharing a raising fund campaign to support both ASAC Midwives in Alberta and Angelina Birth Center in Tepoztlan.

Thanks to their commitment they made possible to get closer to our goal to reach 2500 US for the Birth Center in Tepoztlan.
Please make follow this post, share it with your friends and colleagues and help us to raise more money.
In addition, If you would like to sign and spread their petition to increase funding for midwives in Alberta, here it is: http://www.change.org/en-CA/petitions/a-midwife-for-every-woman-who-wants-one
